François Villeneuve has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. In 2002, they served as the Director at Counter Culture until 2006. From 2005 to 2006, they worked as the Technology Editor at Excalibur Publications, where they were responsible for managing the technology section of the Excalibur paper. In 2007, François joined Microsoft as a Shopping Merchandiser until 2010. From 2010 to 2011, they worked as the Chief Zucchini at LocalFoody. In 2011, François served as the Lead Curator for the Mobile Technology Constellation at the Centre for Social Innovation. François also worked as a Freelance English-French Translator specializing in technical, business, and political translations from 2011 to 2013. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as an Account Manager at TechSoup Canada. François then joined the Toronto Star in 2013 as a Senior Web Developer, where they primarily worked on the ReactJS front end and NodeJS back end of their responsive site. François provided tech leadership and worked on the Star's React Native application. In 2019, François joined RBCx as a Senior Developer, where they worked on React, React Native, Node, and managed AWS infrastructure until 2023. Currently, they are employed as a Senior Web Developer at Brizo FoodMetrics.

François Villeneuve attended York University from 2002 to 2007, where they studied Political Science and Cognitive Science.
