Bert Huang is a Principal AI Computational Scientist at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard since August 2025, previously serving as a Senior Applied Machine Learning Engineer at Snorkel AI from December 2023 to August 2025. With an academic foundation as an Assistant Professor at Tufts University (August 2020 - December 2023) and Virginia Tech (December 2014 - July 2020), Bert has extensive research experience in machine learning, particularly related to network and relational data. Beginning as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Maryland (September 2011 - December 2014) and a PhD Candidate at Columbia University (September 2010 - September 2011), research focused on structured data, graphical models, and combinatorial optimization.
