Brendan Hayes-Oberst

Brendan Hayes-Oberst is a Firmware Engineer at Broadcom, specializing in firmware development for AI and machine learning applications since March 2024. Previously, Brendan worked at EnerSys from October 2021 to March 2024, where roles included Embedded Software Engineer II, focusing on firmware for telecommunication battery management systems, and Electrical Engineer II, concentrating on the design of custom hardware systems for testing battery management firmware. Brendan's experience also includes positions as Principal Research Engineer and Facility Manager at MaxPower Inc., where duties involved facility maintenance and battery prototype development; Graduate Research Assistant at Drexel University in the Materials Electrochemistry Group; and researcher at Penn State University studying rare earth intermetallic compounds. Brendan holds a Master of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from Drexel University and dual Bachelor's degrees in Materials Science and Chinese Studies from Penn State University.
