Emily Johnston has extensive work experience in manufacturing operations and continuous improvement. Emily is currently the Director of Operations, Exhaust Ventilation at Broan-NuTone, where they are responsible for operations in Hartford, WI and Tecate, Mexico. Prior to this, Emily worked at Milwaukee Tool as a Program Manager and Sr. Operations Project Leader, focusing on global manufacturing strategy. Emily also held various roles at Brady Corporation, including Value Stream Manager, Continuous Improvement Leader, SAP Master Data and Art Supervisor, Operations Supervisor, and Manufacturing Engineer. Throughout their career, Emily has implemented manufacturing operating systems, improved workplace organization, and transformed safety cultures. Emily is skilled in problem-solving methodology, level scheduling, and lean manufacturing principles.
Emily Johnston completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they attended from 2002 to 2007. During this time, they also had the opportunity to study Mechanical Engineering and Spanish at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) from 2004 to 2005. Afterwards, Emily pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science (MS) in Engineering Management from the Milwaukee School of Engineering, which they completed between 2012 and 2015. In addition to their degrees, Emily has also obtained the certification of Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) from APICS in February 2022.
