Kristijonas Vizbaras has a long history of work experience in the semiconductor industry. Starting in 2008, they were a Diploma Student at the Walter Schottky Institute, where they developed active regions for GaSb VCSEL emitting above 2.3 micrometers. From 2009 to 2011, they were a PhD student and Scientific Assistant at the Walter Schottky Institute, Technische Universitat Munchen. In 2011, they co-founded Brolis Semiconductors, an infrared laser diode and electro-optic system maker for defence, medical, research and industrial applications. As CTO and Head of Epitaxy Technology, they ran the company's advanced in-house semiconductor device design and production facility. In 2019, they co-founded Brolis Sensor Technology and held the role of CTO and Head of Epitaxy Technology.
Kristijonas Vizbaras obtained a BSc in Electrical Engineering from Vilniaus universitetas / Vilnius University between 2003 and 2007. Kristijonas then completed an MSc in Nanotechnology at KTH Royal Institute of Technology between 2007 and 2009. Finally, they obtained their PhD in Semiconductor Technology from the Technical University of Munich between 2009 and 2012.
