Will Butler-Adams

CEO at Brompton Bicycle

Will Butler-Adams is the current CEO of Brompton Bicycle. Will was previously the Engineering Director at Brompton Bicycle from December 2005 to March 2008. Will was promoted to the board, which enabled him to have a greater influence in the strategy of the business. This included setting out a 5 year business plan to improve efficiency and increase capacity from 13,500 to 25,000 plus units per annum. Will took steps to achieve this by recruiting a more robust senior and middle management team to support aggressive growth, conducting a full analysis of the current operating methods in order to set out a manufacturing strategy, and implementing the manufacturing strategy with initial investments in the site and equipment. As a result of their efforts, Brompton Bicycle saw a 91% increase in pre-tax profits and unit sales increased to 18,000 over the period.

Will Butler-Adams has also worked with the inventor and owner of Brompton Bicycle Ltd to develop a succession strategy for the handover of their business. This required a reorganisation of the stock, with the introduction of £3 million of new investor capital, generated by confidence in an Information Memorandum and Management Team. Prior to their work at Brompton Bicycle, Will Butler-Adams was a Project Manager at Brompton Bicycle from May 2002 to December 2005.
