Christopher Francis

Christopher Francis, Ph.D., currently serves as the Chief of Staff and Strategy at BronxWorks since September 2024. Previously, Christopher was a Principal Consultant for the California State Senate from March 2018 to August 2024, where responsibilities included providing strategic direction on policy and budgetary matters related to California's higher education and labor budgets, as well as criminal justice reform initiatives. In this role, Christopher successfully raised over $1 billion in public financing and developed legislation to support under-resourced communities. Christopher also has experience as a Course Instructor at UC Berkeley, teaching an entry-level course in Fundamentals of Materials Science. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master of Science in the same field, and a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering and Political Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
