Amanda McConnell is an experienced professional in the fields of civic engagement, diversity, and higher education. Currently serving as the Assistant Managing Director at The Brookings Institution since February 2021, Amanda has previously held various roles, including Advisor for Civic Engagement & Inclusion Initiatives at The Washington Center, where responsibilities included designing curriculum and fostering advocacy skills for thousands of students. With a strong background in program management and student support, Amanda has also worked in residential life and crisis management at institutions such as George Mason University and St. Olaf College. Amanda holds a Master of Education in Counseling and Personnel Services from the University of Maryland and a BA in Intercultural Studies from Hope College.
