Laura Alvarez is a seasoned development professional with extensive experience in donor relations and fundraising across various organizations. Currently serving as the Assistant Director of Development and Donor Relations Manager at The Brookings Institution, Laura Alvarez focuses on creating and maintaining stewardship plans and drafting impactful donor correspondence. Previous roles include Program and Fundraising Associate at The Latin America Working Group, where efforts were directed towards enhancing public engagement through grassroots campaigns and social media. Laura Alvarez has also coordinated international projects and fundraising initiatives for the Fundación Guatemalteca para Niños con Sordoceguera Alex, demonstrating a strong capability in campaign management and partnership cultivation. Education includes a Bachelor’s degree in International Development from American University and a Study Abroad program in Human Rights and Education in Latin America.
