Teaching Artist at Brooklyn Academy Of Music

Elizabeth Simmons has a diverse work experience in the arts and education field. Elizabeth began their career in 2003 as an actor, singer, and teaching artist. Elizabeth went on to work at various organizations, including the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts High School, The Center for Arts Education, Brooklyn Academy of Music, and Broward Stage Door Theatre, where they served as a teaching artist and actor. In 2018, they joined Playhouse on Park as the Director of Education, where they developed and planned education programming and curriculum for a regional theatre. Elizabeth also managed various programs and recruited and managed teaching artists and interns. Additionally, Elizabeth worked as a teaching artist at Young Audiences New York and as an actor at The Garage Theatre Group and Rep Stage. Elizabeth also had a role as a special event coordinator at New York Kids Club.

Elizabeth Simmons completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Acting at Point Park University from 1999 to 2003. Following this, they pursued further education at The City College of New York, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Educational Theatre from 2012 to 2014.
