Mya Gelber

Mya Gelber is a law graduate currently working at Brooklyn Defenders as part of the Family Defense team since September 2025. Prior to this role, Mya served as a Summer Law Fellow at Sanctuary for Families from June 2024 to September 2025 and contributed as a writer for New York Magazine from February 2024 to September 2025. Mya is also a law student at Brooklyn Law School, with an expected graduation in 2025, and previously worked as a Pro Bono Senior Legal Assistant at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP from June 2022 to January 2024. Earlier experience includes being a Case Manager at Kreindler & Kreindler LLP where responsibilities included managing personal injury claims and training new staff. Mya holds a Bachelor's Degree in International Relations and Affairs from Bard College and has completed a Chinese Language Intensive program at Qingdao University.
