Tammy Sams Henson

Tammy Sams Henson, RHIA, CCS, currently serves as a Retail Sales Clerk at the United States Postal Service since August 2022. Since May 2013, Tammy has held the position of System Outpatient Coding Manager for seven hospitals within the Baptist Health System, overseeing outpatient coding operations. Previously, from November 2011 to June 2014, Tammy worked as a ROI Specialist at Healthport LLC, where responsibilities included releasing records for Kentucky Disability and billable requests. Earlier experience includes serving as a Reimbursement Specialist at Manchester Memorial Hospital, coding for seven physician practices and conducting compliance coding audits from June 2001 to July 2010, and as Assistant HIM Director at ARH Hazard Medical Center from August 1997 to June 2001. Tammy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Administration and Management from Eastern Kentucky University between 2007 and 2009.
