Shriya Verma

Shriya Verma is a contributing writer for Brown Girl Magazine, Inc. since December 2021, focusing on themes of gender, colonialism, and South Asian diaspora identity. Previously, Shriya served as a Paralegal Specialist at the U.S. Department of Justice from August 2020 to May 2023, assisting in high-profile antitrust investigations, including US v. Google. Other notable experiences include advocacy for women's issues as a City Commissioner in Berkeley and President of the National Organization for Women, alongside various internships in legal and political settings. Shriya holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from the University of California, Berkeley, and is currently pursuing a Juris Doctor at the same institution.
