Robert Carey has a diverse work experience in various companies. Robert started their career at Allied Irish Banks as a Cash Supervisor from October 2008 to April 2010. Robert then moved on to work at David Jones, where they held several positions including Etail Product Coordinator, Omni Channel Assistant - Digital Merchandise, Trainee Planner & Buyer, and Merchandise Replenishment Specialist/ Merchandise Planner. Robert was involved in projects such as website upgrades and the launch of social media platforms. In 2015, Robert joined Brown Thomas Arnotts as a Senior Online Merchandiser - E-Commerce and later took on roles such as Merchandise Lead - Online Multichannel, Acting Head of Online Trade, Head of Online Merchandise, and finally Head of Digital Optimization & Merchandise. Robert managed website operations, reporting, analysis, and teams across two websites.

Robert Carey completed their Masters in Business Management at Smurfit School of Business from 2007 to 2008. In 2009, they pursued a degree in Loans at the Institute of Bankers. Prior to that, they studied Economics at University College Dublin from 2004 to 2007. Robert completed their Leaving Cert at Blackrock College from 1998 to 2004.
