Mark Suchman

Mark Suchman currently serves as the Executive Director of the American Bar Foundation since August 2023, driving innovative empirical research on law and justice. From January 2008, Mark has held the position of Research Professor and Professor of Sociology at Brown University, specializing in the Sociology of Organizations and Sociology of Law. Previous roles include Program Director at the National Science Foundation for a year, where Mark oversaw significant grant initiatives, and visiting positions at institutions such as Boalt Hall Law School, UC-Berkeley, and Cornell University. Mark's academic credentials include a PhD from Stanford University, a JD from Yale Law School, and an AB summa cum laude in Sociology from Harvard University.
