Jena Shoaf Acos began their work experience in 2008 as a Legal Assistant at Arnold & Porter LLP. From 2010 to 2011, they worked as a Law Clerk at Coronel & Perez Abogados and as a Research Assistant at the Harrison Institute for Public Law at Georgetown University Law Center. In 2011, they also served as a Law Clerk at Earthjustice. Jena continued their studies at the Harrison Institute from 2011 to 2012 as a Student. In 2012, they had a Summer Associate position at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck. Jena then joined the company full-time in 2013 as a Natural Resources Associate. In their role, they advised clients on issues such as SGMA and groundwater management plans. In January 2021, they were promoted to Shareholder, Natural Resources and Public Agency Law.

Jena Shoaf Acos obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Spanish & Portuguese and Latin American Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, from 2002 to 2007. Following this, they pursued higher education at Georgetown University Law Center from 2009 to 2013, earning a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree. During the same period, they also attended the Georgetown Public Policy Institute and obtained a Masters in Public Policy.
