Janie McDermott Ms, Sphr, Shrm - Scp

Janie McDermott, MS, SPHR, SHRM - SCP has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Janie currently serves as the Chief Human Resources Officer at BRPH Companies, Inc. since April 2020. Prior to this, they held the role of Vice President of Human Resources and Human Resources Director at BRPH starting in 2012.

Before joining BRPH, Janie worked at Harris Corporation as a Human Resources Business Partner from November 2011 to May 2012. Janie also has experience as a Licensed Insurance Agent at Insphere Insurance Solutions from August 2009 to November 2011.

In their earlier career, Janie held various roles at Johnson Controls World Services, including Deputy Project Manager at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Corporate Human Resources Manager at the Corporate Office. Janie also worked as a Business/Deputy Project Manager at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Center. Earlier in their career, they were in charge of position classification and HR functions as a Senior Human Resources Generalist at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and as a Human Resources Generalist at Kwajalein.

Prior to their HR roles, Janie worked as a Financial Auditor at Knight, Vale and Gregory, CPA's. Overall, Janie McDermott has extensive experience in human resources management, leadership, and business operations.

Janie McDermott holds a Master's degree in Human Resources, which they obtained from Webster University in 2012. Prior to that, they received their Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Central Washington University between 1985 and 1989. In addition to their educational background, they also obtained the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) Certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) in December 2014.
