The Maintenance Mechanic is located in the Toronto Pearson International Airport to maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot and repair all HVAC equipment within the Airport and grounds to achieve optimum life span of equipment.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform monthly preventative maintenance as directed by the supervisor including:
    • Perform shift tours and log readings
    • Start up and shut down
    • Filter changing
    • Belt changing
    • Perform minor repairs
    • Major fan and AHU maintenance and alignment
    • Compressor maintenance
    • Respond to emergency trouble calls of a mechanical nature, and support other staff in their tasks
    • All mechanical maintenance duties

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Hold a valid Certificate of Qualification for the Province of Ontario and have passed any examination which may be required by the Local 787 Examining Board

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in the maintenance of complex mechanical building systems including (but not limited to) heating and cooling systems and their distribution networks, HVAC distribution systems

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Due to many mandatory vaccination requirements at client projects / facilities, in order to provide substantial employment by ensuring compliance with our clients mandates, the successful candidate will be required to validate full vaccination prior to hire.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required with ability to follow instructions both written and verbal
