Nader Aly

Nader Aly, Ph.D., P.Eng. has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Most recently, they are working as the Owner's Engineering Lead (Civil Design) at Bruce Power since April 2021. Prior to that, they founded Smart, Innovative and Sustainable (SIS) Structures Inc. in July 2020, where they served as the Founder. Before that, they worked as a Project Designer at Next Structural Integrity Inc. from July 2020 to April 2021.

Dr. Aly has also contributed to the founding and development of Casa Duro, a sustainable hurricane-proof modular home design and manufacturing company, where they were a part-time Founding team member from February 2018 to December 2020.

Their academic pursuits include roles at Concordia University, where they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher from June 2020 to October 2020, and as a Research And Teaching Assistant from January 2016 to May 2020.

In terms of engineering expertise, Dr. Aly has worked as a Structural Bridge Design Engineer at Louis Berger from February 2015 to January 2016. Prior to that, they served as a Structural Engineer at Parsons from July 2012 to February 2015. Nader also worked as a Structural Engineer at Zebian Industries, specializing in the design and analysis of façade structural elements, steel, and aluminum structures, from November 2011 to June 2012. Earlier in their career, they gained experience as a Site Engineer at Amana Contracting and Steel Buildings, where they supervised site activities and monitored project specifications from June 2010 to September 2010.

Nader Aly, Ph.D., P.Eng. completed their education chronologically as follows:

1. From 2007 to 2011, Nader Aly pursued their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Civil Engineering at the American University of Sharjah.

2. Following their bachelor's degree, they enrolled at the American University of Sharjah again and pursued a Master's of Science degree in Structural Engineering. This program lasted from 2012 to 2015.

3. Nader Aly then proceeded to Concordia University, where they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Civil Engineering. This program took place from 2016 to 2019.

In addition to their educational qualifications, Nader Aly possesses several notable certifications:

1. In January 2014, they obtained the "Fundamentals of Engineering" certification from NCEES.

2. Subsequently, in July 2021, Nader Aly acquired the "Verified International Academic Qualifications" certification from World Education Services.

3. In June 2022, they obtained the "Professional Engineer" certification from The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
