Sharlene Chen

Sharlene Chen serves as the External Vice President at Bruin Ventures since December 2022, focusing on client sourcing and external relations. Sharlene is also engaged as a Project Manager at New York Life Ventures, working on wealth management technology, and has held multiple analytical roles including Senior Analyst positions at RapidSOS, Fintech Fund, and Soma Capital. Additionally, Sharlene is a Software Intern at Amlogic, Inc., involved in embedded software for AI applications, and a 2024 OIP Scholar with Girls Who Invest. At UCLA, Sharlene contributes as a Linguistics Research Assistant and a writer and illustrator for the Daily Bruin. Previous experiences include a brief fellowship at Jane Street, a venture capital internship at Walden International, design work at Designathon at UCLA, food delivery at DoorDash, and a marketing and sales internship at SparkTrendz LLC. Sharlene is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Linguistics with a minor in Accounting at UCLA, following education at Lynbrook High School and West Valley College.
