Susan Lagana

Susan Lagana is a partner at Brunswick Group in Washington, D.C. Susan has over 20 years of experience in public affairs and communications.

Susan began their career as an attorney at Sidley Austin. Susan then transitioned into political communications, serving as Communications Director for Obama for America in North Carolina during the 2008 election. Following the election, they served as Director of Communications for the Secretary of the U.S. Navy. In 2014, they returned to the White House as an attorney, detailed to the Office of Personnel Management.

In 2015, they joined the U.S. Department of Transportation as Deputy Director of Public Affairs. Susan was promoted to Director of Government and Public Relations at PHMSA in September 2014, and then to Deputy Assistant Secretary in March 2016. Susan left the Department in January 2017 to join BCW Global as Managing Director/Executive Vice President. Susan left BCW in November 2020 to join Brunswick Group as a partner.

Susan Lagana received their Doctor of Law (JD) with honors from UNC Chapel Hill and their Bachelor of Science (BS) in International Relations and Affairs from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
