Ruth Joyce

Ruth Joyce has a diverse work experience in the education sector. Ruth is currently the Assistant Director of Special Education at Brunswick School Department, a position they have held since July 2021. Prior to this role, Ruth worked at Lewiston Public Schools from 2014, where they served as the Special Education Supervisor and also worked in a PRE-K role from September 2014 to July 2017. From 2012 to 2014, they worked as an Elementary Special Education Teacher at Lewiston School Department. Ruth began their career in education as a Special Education Teacher at Child Development Services, where they worked from July 2008 to 2012. Before entering the public school system, they gained experience at Vineyard Christian School as a Principal from July 2005 to July 2008, and as a Kindergarten Teacher from September 2001 to July 2005.

Ruth Joyce attended Lasell University from 1997 to 1998, where they studied Education. Afterward, they went on to the University of Maine at Farmington and completed a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Special Education. Ruth then pursued further education at the University of Southern Maine, where they earned a Master of Education (MEd) in Educational Leadership and Administration.
