Stephen Bowes

Stephen Bowes has a diverse work experience in the field of technology and cybersecurity. Stephen worked at BSI from 2016 to 2024, holding various leadership roles including Security Technologies Practice Director, Technology, Alliances & Innovation Director, and Global Practice Director. Before that, they worked at Espion - A BSI Professional Services Company as the Head of Service Delivery & IT from 2013 to 2016, where they managed customer and senior stakeholders, provided professional assurance and led the IT team. Stephen also had experience in the banking sector, working as an IT Security Infrastructure Project Manager at Bank of Ireland in 2013, Head of Technical Delivery at Irish Bank Resolution Corporation Limited from 1999 to 2013, and as a Network Analyst at ACCBank from 1997 to 1999. Stephen began their career at Allied Irish Bank as a Network Administrator from 1995 to 1997.

Stephen Bowes has a B.Sc. (Hons) in Applied Sciences (Mathematics & Physics) from Trinity College Dublin. Stephen also completed a Management Bootcamp (Mini-MBA) at the Irish Management Institute. In addition, Stephen has obtained various certifications, including Zero Trust Certified Architect (ZTCA) from Zscaler and CISSP-ISSAP (Information Systems Security Architecture Professional) from (ISC)². Stephen also holds certifications from Cloud Security Alliance, ISACA, PECB, IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals, and Project Management Institute.
