Nikolaos Vakirlis

Nikolaos Vakirlis is a Junior Investigator at BSRC Alexander Fleming since October 2022. Prior to this role, Nikolaos served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Kiel University from July 2021 to August 2022, and at the University of Strasbourg for a brief period in April to June 2021. Nikolaos also held multiple postdoctoral positions at BSRC Alexander Fleming from February 2020 to June 2021, and at the Benaki Phytopathological Institute from January 2019 to March 2020. From January 2017 to December 2018, Nikolaos was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Trinity College Dublin. Nikolaos began an academic career as a PhD Candidate, Teaching Assistant, and Intern at UPMC - Sorbonne Universities between March 2013 and September 2016. Educational background includes a Master of Science in Biomathematics, Bioinformatics, and Computational Biology from Pierre and Marie Curie University (2011-2013) and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon (2005-2011).
