Katherine D. Carter

Katherine D. Carter, MHA, currently serves as the Director of Operations at The Heart Hospitals within Baylor Scott & White Health, a position held since March 2023. Prior to this role, Katherine held various leadership positions at Appalachian Regional Healthcare from February 2017 to March 2023, including Community Chief Executive Officer and Big Sandy Region Clinic Administrator. Experience also includes roles at Palmetto Health as an Administrative Resident and responsibilities involving data analysis and project development, along with a Graduate Internship at the South Carolina Office of Rural Health focusing on healthcare quality improvement and grant applications. Katherine’s career began with an Undergraduate Internship at Norton Healthcare. Educational qualifications comprise a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Louisville and a Master's degree in Health Care Administration from the University of South Carolina.
