Munir Jalil

Munir Jalil serves as the Executive Director and Chief Economist for the Andean Region at BTG Pactual since January 2019, overseeing Macro Research for Chile, Colombia, and Perú. Prior to this role, Munir Jalil worked as an Economist focusing on Macro Research and Strategy for Colombia and Perú, and held the position of Director and Chief Economist for the North Andean Region at Citi from April 2009 to January 2019. Munir Jalil has also contributed to the field of academia as an Associate Professor of Economics at Universidad Nacional de Colombia since September 2005 and previously taught Advanced Econometrics and Macro at Universidad de Los Andes. Early career experiences include working as an Investigador Asociado a Inflación at Banco de la Republica from 1998 to 2009. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Economics from UC San Diego and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Universidad del Valle.
