Clay Barnett

Clay Barnett currently serves as Senior Counsel at Buchalter, a position held since July 2023. Prior to this role, Clay was the Director of Business Development and Partner at Messner Reeves LLP, and previously managed search consulting at The Advocates. As the Owner and Founder of Barnett Law, Clay demonstrated entrepreneurial skills before serving as Special Counsel and COO at Cantafio Hammond, P.C. Clay also held a Partner position at Messner Reeves LLP for over a decade. Early in the legal career, Clay worked as an associate at John R. Rodman & Associates and Ogborn Summerlin & Ogborn. Additionally, Clay garnered experience in professional sports as a Personnel/Special Teams Advance Scout for both the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles. Academic credentials include a JD from the University of Denver, an MSc in Business from the University of Colorado Denver Business School, and a BA in Psychology from Georgetown University.
