Alyssa Brandon

Alyssa Brandon, LMSW, is an experienced social worker with a diverse background in clinical and medical social work. Currently serving as a VA Substance Abuse Counselor at Buffalo Valley Alcohol & Drug since May 2018, Alyssa provides psychosocial support to veterans dealing with substance use and co-occurring disorders using evidence-based interventions like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. With a solid foundation in hospice care from Caris Healthcare LP since May 2016, Alyssa has developed skills in patient assessment, safety protocol implementation, and grief support. Previous roles include social work internships at Centennial Medical Center, VA Hospital Nashville Campus, and NHC Place Cool Springs, where Alyssa obtained essential experience in discharge planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and care for geriatric patients. Alyssa holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Tennessee, along with additional qualifications in non-profit management and international relations.
