Vasan Sambandamurthy

Vasan Sambandamurthy serves as the Senior Vice President of Global Operations at Bugworks Research Inc., a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing innovative therapies for infectious diseases and cancer since January 2022. Vasan also contributes as a Board Member for the AMR Industry Alliance, a coalition dedicated to combating antimicrobial resistance. Previous roles include Chief Executive Officer at DBT/Wellcome Trust India Alliance and General Manager at Biocon, where Vasan led diverse R&D programs in oncology and autoimmune diseases. Vasan's extensive experience spans various leadership positions at companies including Syngene International, AstraZeneca, and Novartis, alongside foundational research as a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Associate at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Vasan holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences and other advanced degrees in Medical Microbiology and Medical Lab Technology.
