Dave Flitman

Dave Flitman is the president and chief executive officer of Builders FirstSource. He also serves on the board of directors for Builders FirstSource and Veritiv Corporation.

Mr. Flitman has built a career out of leading distribution businesses across various industries. He was president and CEO of BMC Stock Holdings Inc. prior to a 2021 merger with Builders FirstSource. Mr. Flitman has also held executive leadership positions at Performance Foodservice, Univar USA, Ecolab, Nalco and Allegheny Power. He started his career at DuPont after graduating from Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.

Mr. Flitman is a strong supporter of the U.S. military and is passionate about hiring and advancing veterans in his organizations. He is also a proud supporter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and its fight against cancer.
