Building Bridges Across the River
Destiny Bugg is an experienced professional in arts management and community engagement, currently serving as a Foundation Relations Associate at Building Bridges Across the River since June 2024. Previously, Bugg held roles such as Project Coordinator at the Philadelphia Cultural Fund, where support was provided to over 250 arts organizations and initiatives were launched to foster equity in grantmaking. Experience also includes serving as a Social Impact Programming Fellow at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and as an Education Program Manager at Drexel University's School of Education, where over $1 million in federal funding was secured for youth education projects. Additional positions encompass program management and coordination at Mann Center for the Performing Arts, where board relations were facilitated, and at Black Girls STEAMing Through Dance. Bugg holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Entertainment and Arts Management from Drexel University and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Arts Management at American University.

Building Bridges Across the River is a nonprofit with five signature initiatives—THEARC, Building Bridges Farms, THEARC Theater, Skyland Workforce Center, and the 11th Street Bridge Park—designed to provide equitable access to health, arts, and economic opportunity. Our work bridges communities, creating intentional and sustainable pathways to equity. In partnership with communities east of the Anacostia River, we build, convene, and innovate for meaningful change.
