Brian Lerner has worked in various roles in the engineering field since 2008. Brian began their career as an Engineer at Bent Glass Design, where they were involved in the manufacture of custom, laminated glass for yachts and commercial buildings. Brian also repaired and serviced machinery used for glass bending. In 2009, they worked as a Co-op at Toyota Motor Company. In 2010, they became an Engineering Project Manager at TriMed Orthopedic Implants. In 2011, they worked as a Consultant at Manhattan Associates. In 2013, they began working as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Georgia Institute of Technology. From 2014 to 2020, they worked at Apple in various roles, including Software Engineering Manager, Software Engineer, Technical Program Manager, and Automation Engineer. Most recently, they have been working as an Engineering Director and Technical Lead and Engineering Manager at Built Robotics.

Brian Lerner obtained a B.S.E in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan between 2006 and 2010. In 2013, they earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Brian also has several certifications, including a Robotics Software Engineer Nanodegree from Udacity (2020), an Improving Communication Skills certificate from Coursera (2019), a Programming with Google Go Specialization from Coursera (2019), an Artificial Intelligence Nanodegree from Udacity (2018), a Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera (2018), a Machine Learning certificate from Coursera (2017), a Lean Manufacturing certificate from the University of Michigan (2015), a Startup Engineering certificate from Coursera (2013), and an Engineer in Training certification from the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (2010).
