Plamen Kitanov has a diverse work experience, starting from their role as an Expert in "Dealers and franchisers" at Germanos in 2001. Plamen then worked as a Senior Credit Officer at CIBANK JSC in 2002, followed by a role as a Loan Administrator at the National Bank of Greece in 2003. Plamen then moved on to United Bulgarian Bank in 2004, where they worked as a Corporate Relationship Officer until 2006. From 2006 to 2011, they worked at Postbank (Eurobank Bulgaria AD) as a Branch Manager and later as a Regional Manager. Plamen started working at Bulgarian American Credit Bank in 2011, where they held various roles, including Head of sector SME, Head of department SME, Head of Branch network business development, and currently serves as the Head Of Customer Experience.

Plamen Kitanov obtained a Master's degree in Finance, General from the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics from 1996 to 2001. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Root Cause Analysis for Business Problem Solving from A University of Delaware Legacy Company in April 2019.
