Galina Markova

Galina Markova is a seasoned financial professional with extensive experience in leveraged finance and private equity investment. Currently serving as Co-Lead of the UK Chapter at Bulgarian Angels Club since April 2023, Markova has been an Angel Investor with Angel Academe since 2015, focusing on increasing female investment. Previously, Markova held significant roles at Investec Bank Plc from May 2018 to 2021, providing capital for mid-market corporates and handling various financial products, and served as Executive Director of Leveraged Finance at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation from 2016 to 2018. Markova's prior experience at GE Capital spanned 15 years, including leadership in mid-market LBO transactions and managing distressed credits. Early career positions included Relationship Manager at ING and leadership roles at AIESEC Bulgaria. Markova holds an MBA in Finance and Investment Management from Yale School of Management and a Master’s Degree in International Economic Relations from the University of National and World Economy.
