Barbara Eggers

Assistant Director, Business Management & Administration at Bureau of Land Management

Barbara Eggers became the Assistant Director for Business Management and Administration in July 2019. She joined the BLM in 2015 as Associate State Director of the Eastern States Office, where she oversaw management of National Conservation Lands units and the work of the Jackson Hotshot Crew, as well as budgeting and workforce management. Prior to that, she spent 25 years with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), where she started as a Soil Conservation Technician in her home state of Oklahoma before moving to the NRCS Headquarters as the agency’s National Federal Women’s Program Manager in 2001. Eggers also worked in the NRCS state and regional offices in Georgia and California, leading and advising on organizational management, program planning and implementation, fiscal management, budget practices and guidelines, and natural resource issues.

She holds resource management degrees from Northern Oklahoma State University and Oregon State University and completed leadership and Senior Executive Service programs at George Washington University and American University.
