Alison Binney

Alison Binney is an experienced marketing and communication specialist currently working at the Bureau of Meteorology since February 2023. Previously, Alison held key positions at the Department of Communities, Housing and Digital Economy Queensland from August 2016 to January 2023, including Communication Manager and Media & Ministerial, Social Media Team Leader, where responsibilities included strategic communication and social media management. Additional experience includes roles at BOMBARDIER as Communications Advisor, Econnect Communication as Communication and Projects Manager, and as Founder and Manager of the New Science Journalism Project. Alison's early career encompassed agency management and design roles at various media and consulting companies in London, complemented by freelance work as a journalist and photographer in Canada. Alison holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Media Communications from the University of Southern Queensland.
