John Kokarakis

John Kokarakis has over three decades of work experience in the maritime industry. John started their career as a Senior Engineer at Exponent Failure Analysis Associates in 1986. John then worked at Germanischer Lloyd as the Head of the Tanker and Bulker Team from 2005 to 2007. Following this, they joined Bureau Veritas as a Technical Director from 2007 to 2012. During this time, they played a significant role in the development of various technical solutions. John then moved on to the American Bureau of Shipping as a Vice President, leading the Environmental Solutions Team and handling technical communication with clients. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Technology and Business Development at Bureau Veritas, contributing to the company's growth and expansion in the Hellenic, Black Sea, and Middle East Zone.

John Kokarakis earned a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1984. John then continued their education at the same university and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering in 1986.
