Karsten Valsted Larsen has extensive experience in operation and maintenance roles in the energy industry. Karsten Valsted began their career as a Department Manager at Greenland Energy Supply, where they were responsible for water supply and district heating. Karsten Valsted then worked as an Energy Saving Consultant at Kjellerup Municipality. Larsen later became a Plant Manager at Langå CHP Station, overseeing the operation and maintenance of the plant and district heating system, as well as managing two other CHP plants. Karsten Valsted then served as a Maintenance Manager at Dohuk Power Plant in Iraq, where they trained local staff and managed maintenance operations. Larsen also held the position of Plant Manager at Asia Power Station in Sri Lanka, managing the operation and maintenance of a power plant. Karsten Valsted further advanced their career as a General Manager at BWSC Lanka, responsible for the operation and maintenance of a power barge. Currently, Larsen is the Senior Vice President of Operation & Maintenance at Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor (BWSC), where they lead the O&M department and is a member of the BWSC management group.

Karsten Valsted Larsen attended Aalborg Maskinmester skole from 1985 to 1988. During this period, they pursued a degree in Marine Engineering. Further details regarding their field of study are not available.
