Aung Aung is a seasoned public health specialist with extensive experience in epidemiology, operational research, and medical project management. Currently, at Burnet Institute, Aung Aung formulates and executes comprehensive research studies focused on tuberculosis (TB) elimination. Previous roles include serving as Project Medical Referent for Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), managing pediatric drug-resistant TB treatments and psychosocial support initiatives, and as Epidemiological Activity Manager for emergency flood response projects. Aung Aung has held various positions within MSF, including Epidemiologist and Deputy Medical Coordinator, overseeing medical programs and research projects in diverse settings. Academic qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Public Health from Georgia State School of Public Health, along with a medical degree from the University of Medicine 1 in Yangon.
