Jennifer Barnes

Jennifer Barnes is an accomplished professional in the biomedical field with extensive leadership experience. Currently serving as Director of the Office of Research Translation and Director of the Burnet Diagnostics Initiative at Burnet Institute since February 2021, Jennifer previously held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Junofem Limited, where the focus was on developing a smart wearable pelvic floor trainer. Jennifer's background includes business development roles at Caldera Health Ltd and Spot Check Technologies Limited, contributing to innovative solutions in healthcare diagnostics. With earlier positions at Auckland UniServices Limited and Roche, Jennifer's expertise spans molecular diagnostics, product development, and strategic marketing. Jennifer holds a Master’s degree in Molecular Microbiology and a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and Chemistry from Oregon State University.
