Megan Higgins

Megan Higgins currently serves as the Department Manager for Environmental Studies in the Northeast at Burns & McDonnell since June 2025. Megan has been part of the Newport Festivals Foundation, Inc. production staff since 2005, focusing on promoting the Newport Jazz Festival and Newport Folk Festival. Previous roles include Senior Commercial Leader at GE Vernova from January 2024 to June 2025 and Sr. Director of Offshore Business Development at Avangrid between April 2020 and December 2023, specializing in offshore wind projects. Prior experience includes Director of Offshore Energy at Tetra Tech, Senior Environmental Scientist at Ecology and Environment, Inc., and various positions in academia. Educational qualifications consist of a JD from Roger Williams University School of Law, a Master of Marine Affairs from the University of Rhode Island, and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont.
