Bridget M. Synan is an Associate in Burns White’s Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania headquarters. Ms. Synan focuses her practice on railroad law where she represents Class I and short-line railroads in cases that involve allegations of personal and occupational injuries and wrongful death.

Before joining the firm, Ms. Synan served as an Assistant District Attorney for the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office where she represented the Commonwealth in various felony and misdemeanor criminal cases. Ms. Synan handled cases through all trial phases, from preliminary hearings to jury verdicts, and plea negotiations. She also served as a legal intern for The Honorable Edward J. Borkowski in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County and for The Honorable David Stewart Cercone in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Ms. Synan received her Juris Doctor from Duquesne University School of Law where she received the CALI Award for Excellence for the Future Awards in the areas of Wrongful Convictions, Professional Responsibility, Function & Duties of the Prosecution, Criminal Law, and Torts I & II. She also served on the Editorial Board of the Duquesne Law Review. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, with a second major in Politics and a minor in History, summa cum laude, from Saint Vincent College.

Ms. Synan is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
