Katharine “Kate” C. Koob is Of Counsel in the firm’s Philadelphia office. Ms. Koob focuses her practice on the defense of hospitals, health systems, behavioral health facilities, doctors, nurses, dentists and other medical and dental professionals in professional and medical malpractice claims. She has a regular practice of representing clients in trial and arbitration, specifically in cases often involving catastrophic injuries and substantial financial exposure. Ms. Koob has also represented clients in state board investigations, as well as in motor vehicle and premises liability matters.
Prior to joining Burns White, Ms. Koob was an attorney at a Philadelphia firm, where she represented doctors, nurses, hospitals, physician practice groups and other healthcare professionals and institutions in medical malpractice matters.
Ms. Koob obtained her Juris Doctor from Villanova School of Law. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Gettysburg College.
Active in her community, Ms. Koob regularly volunteers her time and resources to various local organizations and causes. She currently serves as the Co-President of the Haddonfield Friends of the Library, and as the Chief Operating Officer and Board/Management Council Member for the Junior League of Philadelphia.
Ms. Koob is a certified arbitrator in the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia. She is admitted to practice law in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, the United State District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and the United State District Court for the District of New Jersey.
