Patrick McDonough Jr. has a diverse work experience. From 2013 to 2017, they held various roles at different companies. Patrick began their career as a Lifeguard at Riverton Country Club in 2013. In 2014, they took on the role of Greenhouse Assistant and Student Ambassador at Delaware Valley University. In 2015, they became a Seasonal Gardener at The Barnes Foundation. In 2016, they worked as a Merchandiser at The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, a Marketing Coordinator at Elite Landscaping, and a Curriculum Developer at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School. Lastly, from 2017 to the present, they have been a Senior Product & Procurement Manager, Purchasing & Production Manager - Live Goods, and Seed Production Specialist at Burpee Gardening.

Patrick McDonough Jr. attended Cinnaminson High School from 2009 to 2013, graduating with a high school degree. Patrick then attended Delaware Valley University from 2013 to 2016, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Floriculture and Nursery Production and Marketing, with a minor in Business Administration. In 2013, they also obtained a Lifeguard/CPR/AED/First Aid certification from the American Red Cross.
