Darren McCombs

Darren McCombs has extensive work experience in the finance and banking industry. Darren currently works as a SOX Compliance Manager, Vice President at Busey since May 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Old National Bank for 6 years in various roles. As a Senior Team Lead in Internal Audit, they were responsible for planning, executing, and reporting on audits of different business units. Darren also administered the company's audit management software suite and received training for it. Before that, they were a Senior Internal Auditor and an Internal Auditor at the same company. Darren started their career at First National Bank in Pinckneyville in 2009 as an Audit/Compliance Manager and Officer. Darren oversaw the development of the bank's internal audit function, managed compliance functions, and participated in various committees. Prior to that, they worked at RSM US LLP as a Senior Assurance Associate and Assurance Associate, where they were involved in planning, executing, and reporting on financial statement audits of financial services clients and other industries.

Darren McCombs earned a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy with a specialization in Accounting from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. Darren attended the university from 2004 to 2006. In 2010, they obtained the Certified Community Bank Internal Auditor (CCBIA) certification from the ICBA.
