Mariam Keburia

Mariam Keburia has a diverse work experience spanning different organizations and roles. Mariam started their career in 2006 as a Specialist at the Georgian Chamber of Commerce & Industry. From there, they held the position of Adviser to the State Minister at The Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Diaspora Issues. In 2010, they joined Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University as a Lecturer of English and later became the Chief Alumni Officer. In 2012, they moved to the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, where they served as the Head of the Office of International Relations and Fundraising until 2019. Following that, they worked at Business and Technology University as an International Relations & Development Office Consultant. Currently, they are working at the MFA of Georgia as an Attache and II Secretary.

Mariam Keburia completed their Junior Diplomats Program from the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training and Research Institute in 2021. In 2020, they earned a Master's degree with a specialization in Leadership for Sustainability from Malmö University. In 2017, Mariam attended the JRC-SAS-INSGA Evidence and Policy Summer School, focusing on migration and demographic change. Mariam received a Migration Management Diploma from Maastricht University in 2014, concentrating on Migration and Development. In 2013, they spent time as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Central Lancashire, focusing on Humanities. Mariam earned their Master's degree in American/United States Studies from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) in 2007, after completing their Bachelor's degree in English Philology from the same university in 2005.
