Maija Hakkarainen

Maija Hakkarainen has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Maija started their career as an Assistant to the Editor-in-Chief at AEIDL (European Association for Information on Local Development), where they were responsible for editing the Euclide newsletter and covering news and events related to EU programs and funding. After that, they joined Tekes, where they held various positions, including Assistant to the Finnish Secretariat for EU R&D, Senior EU R&D Adviser, Digital Communications Manager, and Communications Manager. In these roles, they managed website updates, coordinated social media practices, and implemented digital services and tools. Currently, they are working at Business Finland as the Head of Marketing, leading the marketing team and overseeing marketing communications.

Maija Hakkarainen received a Master of Social Sciences degree in International Relations from the University of Tampere from 1993 to 1999. Maija also obtained a Google Analytics Certificate from Google, although the specific date of completion is not provided.
