Faraz Ansari is an experienced professional specializing in human rights and technology, currently serving as an Associate for Human Rights and Technology at BSR since November 2021. Previously, Faraz held the position of Digital Rights Communication and Advocacy Fellow at Access Now, where advocacy communication was enhanced. A background in research includes an internship at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, focusing on human rights risks in blockchain technology, and a research fellowship at the American Pakistan Foundation, co-authoring a policy brief on diaspora engagement. Faraz also has extensive research experience in various other organizations, including assessing privacy rights at The Johns Hopkins University and drafting compliance referrals for the U.S. Department of Justice. Faraz holds a Master of Arts from Johns Hopkins SAIS and a Bachelor of Arts from The Ohio State University, supplemented by language study in Urdu through the Critical Language Scholarship.
