Matthew Irvine has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Currently, they serve as the Board Chair for Western NSW Local Health District. Matthew is also the President of the Western NSW Advisory Council and a Councillor of the Western Region Advisory Council at Business NSW. In addition, Matthew is a Finance, Risk, and Audit Committee Member at the Australasian College of Road Safety.
Matthew has also worked as a Justice of the Peace at the NSW Department of Communities and Justice. Matthew has held leadership positions at Westhaven Ltd, serving as Chairman and Deputy Chair. Furthermore, Matthew has contributed to the Police Citizens Youth Clubs NSW as a Driver Education Specialist.
Matthew's involvement with the Australian Institute of Company Directors has been extensive. Matthew is a Fellow of the Institute and has completed the Company Directors Course. Matthew has served as the Chair of the Western NSW Regional Forum and as a Committee Member in the NSW Central West Chapter. Prior to this, Matthew was a Member of the Institute.
Additionally, Matthew has been actively involved in promoting sports development as the Chair and Board Member of the Western Region Academy of Sport. Matthew is also the Managing Director of iDrive NSW, a company specializing in young driver education and road safety initiatives. Lastly, Matthew has served as the Chair of the Reliance Community Support Fund.
Matthew Irvine JP FAICD FAMI has a diverse education history. In 2004, they earned a degree in Business, with a focus on Public Policy & Administration, from Charles Sturt University. Matthew went on to complete a Graduate Certificate in Commerce, specializing in Governance & Strategy, from the same institution between 2012 and 2014.
In 2016, Matthew completed the Company Directors Course offered by the Australian Institute of Company Directors, obtaining the FAICD certification. Matthew also received the FAMI certification in 2014.
Matthew further expanded their education in business leadership through a Master of Leadership program from Deakin University, focusing on Corporate Governance. Matthew began this program in 2019 and is expected to graduate in 2024. Matthew also pursued a Next Stage Growth Program in 2017 at Charles Sturt University, with a field of study in Business Innovation and Growth Acceleration.
In terms of additional certifications, Matthew was recognized as the 2017/2018 Business of the Year by the Bathurst Business Chamber Inc. Matthew also obtained the Boardroom Mastery certification from the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2019. Additionally, they completed a short course on Disability Studies from the same institution in 2019.
Matthew's secondary school education includes attending Kelso High School for their Higher School Certificate (HSC) from 1988 to 1990 and The Scots School for their secondary schooling from 1985 to 1987.
