Emma Chao

Emma Chao is an experienced design professional currently serving as Design Director at BDG since October 2021. Prior roles include Art Director and Senior Brand Designer at Some Spider Studios, as well as Senior Designer at CommonBond.co. Emma's early career includes positions as Digital Designer at AOL and L'Oréal, where work focused on women's lifestyle brands and luxury haircare. Emma began in the industry as Digital Design Lead at Fab.com, progressing from a Digital Designer role where significant efficiency in event management was demonstrated. Prior to design roles, Emma was involved in merchandise planning at Polo Ralph Lauren, The Frye Company, and Target Corporation. Emma holds a BA in Economics from the University of Michigan, along with a Graphic Design Certificate from Shillington School and additional training in Adobe software from the School of Visual Arts.
